Q&A with Yannick

What is your job/position and what are your day-to-day tasks?

I work as a human resources officer and HR generalist at Loy & Hutz—in short, I take care of everything related to our employees. This ranges from supporting our teams to recruiting and onboarding to personnel development and administrative tasks. In addition to day-to-day business, I plan and oversee our HR processes, support managers in supervising their teams, and, together with my colleague Christina, am the first point of contact for all HR questions. This makes my working day incredibly varied—sometimes strategic, sometimes operational—and that’s exactly what makes my job so exciting.

Which tools do you mainly use for your work?

In my daily work, I use various tools that help me keep track of everything. I use the softgarden tool for recruiting, which makes communication with applicants structured and straightforward. waveware® QPRO is our company’s own system for managing all personnel master data. I use MS Outlook and Teams for internal and external communication. I also use MS Office with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for example, for reports, documentation, or presentations.

What challenges drive you the most?

What motivates me most is attracting the right talent to Loy & Hutz and supporting their long-term development—both professionally and personally. I find striking a balance between the individual needs of employees and the goals of the company particularly exciting. It is precisely this challenge that makes my work so varied and fulfilling. It is simply enjoyable to play an active role in creating a working environment where people enjoy working and can develop their potential.

Where can you best contribute your strengths?

I would say that my greatest strengths are empathy, communication skills, and organizational talent. Thanks to my training and experience in human resources, I am able to design efficient processes while always keeping the employees’ perspective in mind. Within the team, I primarily provide support through structured planning, open communication, and solution-oriented work. In this way, I can help to optimize our HR processes and further strengthen employee satisfaction.

What do you like most about your job?

What I love most is direct contact with people and the opportunity to support them in their development. I find the combination of strategic planning and operational implementation particularly exciting—it allows me not only to improve processes, but also to actively shape the company. For the future, this means that I can contribute even more to Loy & Hutz’s growth and the further development of its positive, motivating corporate culture.

What are you most passionate about outside of work?

In my free time, I enjoy sports—in the summer, I cycle or go hiking, and in the winter, I am drawn to the mountains for skiing. I have also been an avid soccer player in a club since childhood. To balance my career, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
