As head of our AI team, Timon drives the integration of generative AI into waveware® with the aim of facilitating data-driven decisions, making processes more efficient, and offering our customers an intuitive user experience. Thanks to his specialization in AI during his master’s degree, he has a solid technical understanding of AI models and typical project challenges. His background in industrial engineering allows him to bridge the gap between technology and business – from strategic decisions to product-related issues. What he values most is the freedom to help shape things, the close collaboration within the team, and the exciting, varied projects. When Timon is not working, he likes to be active: he plays sports, tries new things, and spends time with friends and family—whether in Freiburg or traveling.
As head of the AI team at Loy & Hutz, I am responsible for developing innovative AI solutions. We create the basic technologies that serve as a foundation for other teams to implement specific use cases. In addition to the strategic orientation of the AI division, I design future developments and supervise ongoing projects. My focus is on the further development of our AI strategy and the successful integration of AI into our products.
I mainly use the Microsoft 365 suite for organization and communication. In addition, I occasionally provide active support in the development process, working with tools such as JetBrains Rider, Visual Studio Code, GitLab, and our in-house solutions waveware® CONSTRUCTOR and waveware® DESIGNER. I receive valuable support from integrated AI assistants that are embedded in various tools.
I am motivated by the vision of using AI to open up completely new possibilities in our software. The combination of uniform, structured data in waveware® and the capabilities of modern AI opens up enormous potential—for us and our customers. My goal is to responsibly exploit this potential by developing trustworthy and reliable AI solutions.
Through my specialization in AI during my master’s degree, I have developed a solid basic understanding of how AI models work and the typical challenges in AI projects. At the same time, I benefit from my broad knowledge of industrial engineering—whether in strategic considerations, legal issues, or development topics. I am particularly excited about bridging the gap between technology and business and successfully connecting both worlds.
What I like most about my job is the opportunity to make a difference with my own ideas and actively shape the future of our product. I particularly appreciate the dedicated and supportive teamwork, which opens up new perspectives and promotes exchange. The diversity of topics and projects keeps the work exciting—no two days are the same.
In my free time, I enjoy a wide range of sports. Whether it’s jogging, padel, volleyball, squash, or surfing—I like to try new things and keep my mind open to new ideas. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether in Freiburg or elsewhere. I love discovering new places and cultures.
