Q&A with Christina

What is your job/position and what are your day-to-day tasks?

As HR specialist at Loy & Hutz, I take care of all personnel-related issues like working time models, references and much more. I am the contact person for all colleagues when it comes to internal HR issues, but of course I also represent Loy & Hutz as an employer to interested parties in the recruiting process.

Which tools do you mainly use for your work?

Through my job, I am in regular contact with many employees. Since many of them work from home, hybrid or at other locations, the MS Teams tool is in constant use. Using applicant management software, I can manage all applications received and communicate with applicants. Our in-house system waveware® QPRO manages all HR master data.

What challenges drive you the most?

Due to the current labor market situation – especially in the software industry – it is not easy to find and ultimately retain qualified employees who fit the company. Creativity and inventiveness are needed here to stand out among many companies in order to offer both applicants and employees the decisive added value.

Where can you best contribute your strengths?

In human resources, I think empathy is one of the most important skills. The willingness and ability to put myself in other people’s shoes and to approach and solve situations and tasks accordingly is a key to success for me.

What do you like most about your job?

What I like most is the varied range of tasks. As a generalist in the HR area, I deal with almost all HR topics such as personnel recruitment, administration, support, retention, planning, etc. I enjoy this very much. I also like interacting and communicating with people.

What are you most passionate about outside of work?

In my free time, I like to devote myself to music. I grew up in a music-loving family and have played the oboe since I was little. I mainly play in the music club, where I have also been a member of the board for many years. I also participate in various ensemble and orchestra projects.
